Payments in Messenger: Send Money to Your Facebook Friends

Facebook officially announced Payments in Messenger; the feature allowing the users to send money instantly through its messaging platform.

Thanks to the Payments in Messenger, you’ll be able to transfer money to your friends with a single click, without leaving the app.

Facebook Messenger’s latest free feature will start rolling out in the United States over the coming months. In fact, this move was not a surprise, since PayPal’s ex president David Marcus recently became the head of Facebook’s Messenger product.

Confirming the rumors, Facebook finally made an official statement and clarified how the function will work.

Payments in Messenger works in a very simple way: When you chat with a friend, all you have to do is to tap the “$” icon and type the amount you wish to send.

For now, Facebook Messenger accepts payments via Visa and MasterCard issued by a US bank. Moreover, if you are an iOS user, you’ll be able to activate Touch ID feature and make your payments even more secure.
