Swarm Messaging: Make Plans With Your Friends!

It’s been almost a year since Foursquare divided the app into two, under the names of good old Foursquare and Swarm.

While Foursquare went on its way as a discovery and review app, Swarm became the more “social” branch of the application.

After transferring the check-in feature to the Swarm app, the company added options such as a “Plans” section in order to help the users to meet their friends easily.

Thanks to the latest update, Foursquare announces Swarm Messaging, allowing the users to connect better with each other.

Previously, Swarm let the users add phone numbers and social media accounts to their profiles so that the community could take the conversation further. With Swarm Messaging, there is no need to leave the app in order to communicate with other Swarm users.

Now you’ll be able to message all Swarm users directly from the app!

Swarm Messaging comes with a side-effect: disappearance of the weird “Plans” tab.

From now on, you’ll be able to make plans with your friends privately; instead of publicly asking everyone if they are interested in your plans.

In order to use Swarm Messaging, you have to download the latest version of the app.
