Facebook Messenger is Testing Voice-to-Text Feature

It’s been almost 2 years since Facebook Messenger added voice messaging feature into the platform and enabled the users to send voice clips to their friends.

Although it’s a great thing to hear your friends’ voices, we may not always have the time to use that option. Sometimes we may need to take a quick look at the messages and go back to business! Facebook also notices that need and plans to add the voice-to-text option to the application.

Thanks to the voice-to-text feature, you’ll be able to “read” your friends’ voice clips —as an optional setting.

The Vice President of Facebook’s Messaging Products, David Marcus recently posted an update providing the first hints of Messenger’s voice-to-text feature.

He explains why we might need that feature: If you’re at a concert or in a meeting, and would prefer to read a voice clip from a friend, you now can if you’re part of the small test we’re rolling out.

As you can see, Facebook is testing the new feature on a very tiny scale and we may need to wait a little more for the official release.
