French Postal Service La Poste Will Start Using Drones For Mail Delivery

Drones travelling in the air might sometimes make us feel in a science-fiction movie. Although we still don’t have flying cars, drones might cause some air traffic in the future!

After Amazon’s initiative to use drones in delivery, French postal service ‘La Poste’ takes another step on the issue.

You must have heard how Amazon plans to deliver the orders in 30 minutes, thanks to flying drones. Also, NASA was reportedly working on a project to manage the drone traffic in the air.

With these developments in mind, La Poste obviously wanted to keep up with the trends and started experimenting drones with a project named ‘GeoPost’.

The good news is, La Poste’s first tests turn out to be successful! The postal service is able to carry small packages and files through remote control.

Even though, the official release date of the service is not clear, La Poste intends to use delivery drones initially in emergency situations.
