While You Were Away: Quick Recap of What You’ve Missed on Twitter

Have you ever felt overwhelmed trying to catch up with your friends’ updates, while you were offline?

You don’t need to worry about Twitter anymore, thanks to its latest update: ‘while you were away’. Twitter already started to spread the application update for iOS users and officially announced what that would look like:

Twitter’s new feature helps you to see a quick recap of the top tweets you might have missed while you were away. Under that little headline, you’ll be able to see the most interesting tweets of your friends on top of your timeline, regardless of the time.

Obviously, the essential nature of Twitter –chronology– seems disturbed since older tweets may end up on top of your feed. Although it’s a radical move, looking at the number of tweets sent every day, it’s quite understandable.

Here the company says: “With a few improvements to the home timeline we think we can do a better job of delivering on that promise without compromising the real time nature of Twitter.”

Twitter’s new ‘While You Were Away’ feature will soon be available on Android devices and web version of the platform.
