Google Introduces 'A Year in Search'

As one would expect, Google was another brand taking a look back at 2014 with a microsite. If you recall, before we’ve seen the previous year through the lens of Facebook. In fact, they display pretty similar results. Let’s see if we “googled” about the same stuff we tweeted or shared on Facebook.

Google’s Year in Search comes with a bunch of “trending” lists including YouTube videos, World Cup Matches, Google Doodles, Consumer Electronics and more. What’s better is you can both see the global trends of 2014 and choose the option for specific countries.

Not surprisingly, here is a list of the world’s favorite searches in 2014:

  1. Robin Williams
  2. World Cup
  3. Ebola
  4. Malaysia Airlines
  5. ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

And the award for the most searched person of 2014 goes to Jennifer Lawrence! You may have seen that coming…
