Toyota: Focusing on Google Plus

Toyota is a Japanese automotive manufacturer, active since 1937. Today it is a global brand, entered into various markets worldwide. The brand is also a successful one on social media, including Google Plus, which we will be briefly analyzing today.

Toyota has more than 4 million followers on Google Plus, which is a pretty big number. What’s more impressive is that the page has more than 101 million views! The stats tell us that something has been going on this page. Let’s see what they are!

Stay Social Everywhere

Toyota has a Google Plus page with a clear, simple and elegant design. Just the way it should be!

Page design gives us the feeling as if we are in an online showroom. Isn’t it cool?

What we liked more about Toyota’s Google Plus basics are how they make the best out of the “About” section by adding their other social platforms and linking the visitors into them.

That’s something we should all be doing. Staying social on every platform will help you gather both more traffic to your website and followers on other networks.

Take Your Time On The Platform

Toyota prefers to post one update a day on average. And it is obvious that they take their time and effort specifically for the platform. Looking at the content, their updates are focused on both the racing events they sponsor and engaging questions for the followers.

The brand uses the platform in a Facebook-like manner, by asking questions and starting conversations. What’s better is that they get really good numbers of “+1”s and comments. Meaning, the questions are working!

Often use of videos by Toyota is a brilliant idea on Google Plus and you should also be doing it, because the platform offers a preview for your videos in a GIF-like fashion. The followers will know what’s inside the video and choose to watch it or not more easily.

As a brand who knows the platform very well, Toyota often uses hashtags, as one would expect.

In previous years, Toyota launched a service called “Collaborator” partnering with Google. Through Collaborator, the participants could use Google Plus’ native service “Hangouts” to design a new Toyota and even make a virtual test drive on Google Maps.

Looking at all of these, we can say that Toyota is a brand which knows Google Plus and its features very well. By visiting the page, you can also get some fresh ideas for your own Google Plus Page!
